On May 8, 1905, Oldsmobile raced a pair of Curved Dashes cross country from New York to Portland, Oregon, to attend the Good Roads Convention being held on June 20. The company promised $1,000 to the winner of the two-car race. Dwight Huss and Milford Wigle won the contest in "Old Scout", making the trip in 45 days.
