The 275 hp Vortec 4200 DOHC inline 6-cylinder engine combines the efficiency of a V6 with more standard power than all V8s in its class (EPA estimated fuel economy 16/22 city/hwy (2WD), 15/21 city/hwy (AWD). Excludes other GM vehicles.).
With a displacement of 4.2 liters, producing 275 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 RPM, and 90% of peak torque available between 1,600 and 5,600 rpm, you get deep reserves of power on call whenever you need it to pass and merge.
The all-aluminum engine design gives you such a smooth, quiet ride GM engineers had to fit it with an ignition interlock to prevent attempts to restart it.
And with the rising cost of fuel, you’ll be happy to know the Bravada does all this while still running on regular unleaded fuel.

The 2-wheel-drive layout features a Traction Assist System with locking rear differential to help get you through slippery conditions. The system helps ensure the engine’s power is never wasted in idle spinning of wheels. Wheel-speed sensors can detect rear-wheel slippage and automatically reduce engine power to help you retain control and directional stability.

The remote-control keyless entry system activates the programmable power door locks, arms the standard theft-deterrent system and, in an emergency, a press of the panic button will sound the horn and flash the parking lamps.

The PASSLock® vehicle security system prevents starting of vehicle without authorized ignition key.

To help protect front-seat occupants, Bravada features dual-stage frontal and available side-impact air bags*. Three-point safety belts are standard for all seating positions.
As an aid to safety, Bravada features a standard 4-wheel antilock braking system. Under maximum braking effort, the system modulates brake line pressure to help prevent wheel lockup, helping the driver to retain steering control and steer clear of an obstacle.
